Projected Availability of the Online On-Demand ENERGY STAR Version 3 - 3.1 Revision 8 Training is Fall 2017
We are moving forward on the ENERGY STAR V3 R8 online course and plan to have it available soon. Thank you.
Why does EPA update the ENERGY STAR Program Requirements?
To stay ahead of energy code requirements:
- ENERGY STAR recognizes significant efficiency above standard construction practices. Energy codes are becoming more stringent, particularly with the adoption of the 2012 IECC in more states.
To continually improve value proposition:
- ENERGY STAR guidelines are regularly updated to include building science practices that can help improve comfort, indoor air quality, and durability in certified homes. EPA periodically revises program requirements in response to partner questions and evolving standards, and to disseminate policy changes in a consistent manner.
- Revisions are made on an as-needed basis, but it is expected that the guidelines will not be updated more frequently than every three months, and that after a year of implementation, updates will slow to every six months.
- Please refer to the current Policy Record for details on issues resolved by the program with the release of Revision 08 to Version 3: https://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=bldrs_lenders_raters.nh_v3_policy_changes_clarifications
